Elena and Sofia

By sharing professions take lots of your energy. For example, a teacher, a doctor, a psychologist would be able to realize their full potential if they only follow job instructions.   your energy and helping those in need, you will yourself become stronger and richer. School psychologists often deal with lots of difficult situations. They help to resolve conflicts, to guide children towards their place in school community. They teach children to look at the world positively and plant seeds that will blossom into self confidence in the future. It is not easy, especially considering today`s society where many parents cannot provide for their child or neglect them. These children feel as though they have done something wrong and often have difficulties with communication. They often feel neglected by their classmates or shrink into themselves.

That's the way Sophia was. She was growing up in a very dysfunctional family. Her mother and step- father cared about neither themselves nor their family. What little money they earned went to support their alcoholism. Sophia shared this plight with the couple's younger mutual daughter Marina. There was no electricity in the house and no wood to fireside make a fire in the one room house. Growing older, Sofia realized that most children did not live like her and she felt and ashamed of her life. She had no way out but to start spending time with “bad guys” and skipping school. The school psychologist, Elena, worked with the girl individually. They both applied to BBBS program. Their relationship was not easy at first. Often they couldn`t even talk; Sofia was often silent or rude and ran away. Again and again, Elena tried to find a way into the girl's heart. She felt that Sofia strongly needed her. Every failed conversation was worth it the day that Elena got a letter from Sophia. In beautiful handwriting, she described all her fears and doubts. Thereafter, they started writing to each other and through letters, they discussed every conflict Sonya encountered. It became easier for other teachers to work with the girl too because they were able to understand why she acted certain ways. Her family situation continued to deteriorate and finally Sofia was sent to an orphanage. She continued to keep in touch with her Big and they kept sending letter to each other. When Sonya finished the 8 th grade, she returned to her old school to begin 9 th grade. To this day, Sophia and Elena's correspondence continues. Elena has lots of letters full of are warmth, problem solving and plans for future. We are sure that Sonya`s moral state is safe and stable today and that she has hope for the future because of the timely help she got from Elena.
